Houston Production Directory Listing Rules & Requirements

 

The Houston Production Directory is a free online resource for the film/TV/media industries. Industry professionals search the Directory on our website for talented freelance individuals, companies and associations.

  • Listing in the Directory is FREE. Each listing allows you to choose up to three (3) categories
  • The application process is online and accessible at any time.
  • There are no application deadlines, everything is online, listings may be created at any time and are valid for one year.

Our online application typically takes between 10-20 minutes to complete. We suggest collecting all your contact information and past job history materials (credits) before you start the application process, allowing you to fill it out in a timely manner.

Please review the Privacy Policy of Houston First Corporation. By creating a listing with the Houston Film Commission, you accept these conditions.


Prerequisites to List

  1. Applicant must have a greater Houston, Texas area address.
  2. Applicant must provide at least three paid, verifiable, professional media industry (film, television, commercial, animation, visual effects (VFX), XR (VR, AR, MR) or video game Job Credits that corresponds with each selected Category (past Call Sheets or Crew Lists may be requested).
  3. Applicants are encouraged to include a link to their website, IMDb profile, or other online profile detailing their professional experience.

Additional Prerequisites for Specific Categories

Associations - Industry Association:

  1. Association must be a media industry-related (film, television, commercial, animation, VFX, XR or video game) organization.
  2. Association must be regional to Houston, Texas.

Festivals & Conferences - Conference:

  1. Conference must be related to film, television, commercial, animation, VFX, XR or video games.
  2. Conference must be an annual event that takes place in greater Houston, Texas area and be in its second year or later.
  3. Conference must be an event comprised of panels and speakers for the purpose of education, and may include a trade show and/or networking opportunities.

Festivals & Conferences - Film & Video Festival:

  1. Festival must be an annual event that takes place in greater Houston, Texas and be in its second year or later.
  2. Festival is encouraged to have a competition of submitted entries; not solely a retrospective exhibition.
  3. Screenings are open to festival attendees and/or public attendance.

Film Commissions - Regional Film Commission:

  1. The Commission receives financial support from the city/local government.
  2. The Commission must be the designated, authorized film liaison for that city/region.
  3. The Commission must be a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI).

Health & Safety - Compliance Officer / Safety Coordinator:

  1. Applicants must provide proof of certification or additional training related to health and safety upon request.

Schools - Animation School, Film School, and Video Game School; Continuing Education; and K-12 Distance Learning:

  1. Animation, Film and Video Game Schools must be institutions that offer courses related to film, television, commercial, animation, VFX, XR or video games, and are recognized by either the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board or the Texas Workforce Commission.
  2. Continuing Education must be an organization located in greater Houston, Texas that offers educational programming for the film, television, commercial, animation, VFX, XR or video game industries.
  3. K-12 Distance Learning must be state accredited school programs located in Texas.
